How JobDoceo Autopilot Handles Your Data (Alpha Version – March 2026)

Introduction

We at JobDoceo are a small team of two developers building Autopilot — a Chrome extension that helps job seekers automate repetitive parts of LinkedIn Easy Apply.

Your privacy matters deeply to us. This policy explains what data we collect, why, how we use and protect it, and your rights. Because we’re in early Alpha (free limited trial only), we keep collection minimal and fully transparent.

What Data We Collect

We only collect what is strictly necessary for the Alpha trial and extension functionality:

  • When you request a trial (/request-trial/):
Name and email (auto-filled from your WordPress account)
Required free-text field: “Why would you like to try Autopilot in Alpha?” (helps us understand your needs and improve the tool)
Your WordPress user ID (to enforce one-trial-per-user rule)
  • When you activate the extension with a token:
No additional personal data is sent to us. The token is validated locally in your browser/extension.
  • When you use the extension on LinkedIn:
No data is collected or sent to our servers. All form filling, cover letter generation, matching logic, and tracking happen locally in your browser.
We never access your LinkedIn credentials, messages, connections, or full profile beyond what you explicitly allow the extension to read for auto-fill purposes.

We do not collect: payment information (no payments in Alpha), location data (beyond basic IP), browsing history outside LinkedIn Easy Apply pages, or any data from non-Easy Apply LinkedIn pages.

How We Use Your Data

We use your data only to:

  • Process and review your trial request (manual admin review, including your required reason text)
  • Send confirmation and approval notification emails
  • Enforce the one-trial-per-user limit
  • Improve Autopilot based on anonymized feedback (never tied to your identity without explicit consent)

We do not use your data for advertising, selling or sharing with third parties, training external AI models, or any purpose unrelated to Autopilot Alpha.

Data Storage & Security

Trial request data (name, email, required reason text, status) is stored securely in our WordPress database (hosted with SSL, firewalls, and strict access controls).

Access tokens are generated by our backend only after manual approval. The token is then stored encrypted-at-rest in our database (tied to your request/user record).

You will receive an email notifying you of approval with instructions to log in to your dashboard on this website, where the token will be decrypted and displayed only for you (never sent in plain text via email).

All communication uses HTTPS. Emails contain no sensitive token data — only instructions and links. The dashboard uses secure session authentication and encryption for display.

Your Rights & Choices

You can:

  • Request deletion of your trial request data and token — email support@jobdoceo.com
  • Stop using the extension at any time (uninstall = no further local data collection)

Because Alpha is free and manual, we don’t offer self-service deletion yet — contact us directly.

Third Parties

We share data only with essential service providers under strict agreements (hosting provider, WordPress core). No advertising, analytics, or tracking tools are used.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted here and, if material, emailed to active trial users. Continued use after changes means acceptance.
